I went out to Oval Beach today to get out of the house and take a few pics around town with my Canon. It’s been a while since I’ve taken it out like this and I really missed it. It’s great to take pictures on my phone (and I do take A LOT of them!!) but there’s something different about taking out my Canon and being purposeful about taking pictures.
Doing this also helped me to slow down and really take in my surroundings. I allowed myself to take my time and see my new home town in a fresh way. It was very relaxing and enjoyable.
While doing this, it also reminded me of a time before social media when I used to post pictures on my website. I can’t remember the last time I did this (probably at least a decade ago–how time flies) but I thought it’d be a nice thing to start doing again. I have the website and the space so why not? I know a few people who’d enjoy it and maybe you will, too. This is my new intention for this year. It will also help me to drag my Canon out more often.
While these may not be the most exciting photos in the world, they do capture the spirit of today. It’s been a grey sort of day in Saugatuck, Michigan, but thankfully without any freezing rain or snow. I’ll take this kind of day any day.
